Tactical duty boot with 4D chassis, Contagrip sole and EN version

Long marches over uneven ground with a short sprint in between: a boot has to give support and still stay agile. According to the product description, the Quest 4D Forces 2 EN from Salomon combines the stability of a mountain boot with enough flexibility for sprints and short runs. The EN version is designed for the European standard for occupational footwear (EN ISO 20347): according to the product description, the sole is slip and oil resistant, puncture resistant and has antistatic properties.

Chassis, midsole and outsole

According to the manufacturer, the 4D Advanced Chassis provides stability and control and reduces fatigue on long missions. The dual-density midsole with EnergyCell foam absorbs shock and returns energy. The Contagrip MD outsole is made from a hard rubber compound, and its multi-directional lugs grip on firm and loose ground alike. A puncture-resistant insert is built into the sole.

Fit, protection and lacing

The SensiFit system wraps the foot from the midsole to the laces. A moulded Ortholite sockliner cushions and manages moisture. Closed lace hooks, a lace pocket on the tongue and a gusseted tongue keep debris and laces under control. A protective toecap, rubber heel cap, medial protective pad and mudguard protect the boot where it takes the most wear. All materials are non-reflective.

Upper 2.0mm nubuck leather with anti-debris mesh, treated to be water repellent according to the product description. Lining mesh and textile. Sockliner Ortholite. Outsole Contagrip MD rubber.
