Ankle-high trekking shoe with two-zone lacing

On loose gravel, wet roots and steep trails, the shoe decides how securely each step lands. The Mountain High from FoxOutdoor is an ankle-high trekking shoe with a padded shaft and padded tongue, made for hikes and long days on rough ground. The upper is quick-drying and breathable, and the manufacturer describes the walking characteristics as excellent.

Sole, toe area and heel

The rubber sole is grippy and cushions well. At the toe it is pulled up and carries an additional plastic band that stabilises the forefoot and serves as scree protection. The reinforced, stable heel area holds the foot in place, the pull tab at the heel makes it easier to slip the shoe on, and the insole is removable.

Two-zone lacing system

Eyelets and hooks divide the lacing into two zones. The foot is fixed quickly and securely, and the shoe can be tightened separately at the foot and at the shaft. According to the manufacturer, the system works without pressure points.

Materials and care

The upper is made of polyester, as is the lining; the sole is rubber, the insole is EVA, and the laces are polyester.

After the tour, brush off coarse dirt, clean the shoe with lukewarm water and let it air-dry; take the insole out to dry.
